Forty-five players are vying for 10 spots on each of four teams - the Coyotes, Stars, Sharks, and the Ducks. With some of the top scorers and other players having moved on to other adventures and with new blood joining the league this year, there’s already been talk of who will be among the top scorers.

As for who No. 1 will be, well unless opposing players come up with an affective defensive strategy to slow him down we don’t have to go out on a ‘Lim’ to predict that one. Do keep an eye on a quick-handed sharp shooter Marcus Schmaling who’ll be up there in the scoring with veteran Stephen Ho, and Mr. Reach, Dan Galpin no doubt.

Goal getters are all important to winning, and goal tending with good defense can make all the difference. Between the posts this year we’ve got the return of MVP goaltender Kevin Lim, rumour has it he’ll be missing game one of the season, and then there’s big-hearted Adam Galpin. Flexible Cody Funston will take on full time net minding this year, and new comers Ken denBraber and Steve Kim are making themselves available tpo guard the net if need be. Yours truly is giving it a shot too as a rookie keeper who’s more than twice the age of the likes of Funston and finding that I'm not as flexible as I used to be!

Like most of you guys, I can’t wait to give it my all and have some fun out there playing as a team.
I look forward to the games each week. It’s a little healthy competition; the most important thing going on in the world’s for that hour and a half!

And for those of you who don't make the cut so to speak, and are placed on the waiting list but would still like to play regularly, talk to me or email me about drop in hockey happening elsewhere each week on Monday night.
