Not Afraid I might be misunderstood
Misjudged, mistreated again
Not Afraid some might try to censor -
Silence - ridicule my choice
My choice to share from the heart
For the heart of women and men -
Why would the open-minded
Be so close-minded and cruel?
Not Afraid some might call my view
Of what’s love - hate, and what’s truth
A person’s freedom stealing lie
As more are hurt as others die
If I could ask one question of my accusers
Before they go - It would be - answer me this:
Where’s the Love? There’s the Truth.
I am Not Afraid Anymore
~ Part of a poetic series to be revealed soon.
