I fell in love with South Africa and traveled there for volunteer/missions with interracial youth groups and street youth in 1991-92, 93 and I went back in 1996 where I reconnected 'by chance' in Capetown with my friend S'lu, Sillulama Maphongwane originally from Soweto. I had introduced him to busking back in '92 and the people loved him!

One example of this was when we were busking together near a mall area in Joburg. We were singing "Mountain 'O Things" by Tracy Chapman and a young guy who had been begging for change danced on by with a fist full of coins, he turned back around, took a few coins and transferred them to one hand and then with a big smile on his face took his fist full of coins and dropped the bulk of his days take into S'lu's guitar case.

Four years later S'lu was in Capetown and we ran into each other at a Youth Hostel. He was in town busking and encouraged me to do the same as I had run out of money. It's amazing how far encouragement and confidence building goes and is needed for artists.... especially those who want to give their gift back to The Giver and benefit others!

S'lu, like myself, is also now married and has children. A year ago he left his day job to step out in faith and make a go at music in South Africa. Today he is back looking for a desk job but this is not his calling.

On one of our morning jogs together through the park in Capetown I had the thought that one day we would do music together and even more now today I believe this is meant to be.

All these years later I'm wondering if there might be enough people out there to help get S'lu a plane ticket to Vancouver, Canada or visa versa or helping us both be in the right place at the right time, with the right people to help us record?

We could tour here and then bring our music, film and a message of hope, truth and love back to South Africa and anywhere else Love would have us go. We have a heart to help orphans and widows! We are not out for financial gain or fame, just to provide for our families and help others.

It's a God idea but then I have a lot of those seemingly impossible dreams as I'm sitting here alone in my living room on the computer .

Any ideas on how we can help make this happen would be most helpful. Waiting and working on a miracle...

If it's meant to be it will happen with or without human effort.

P.S. I'm trying to find someone in the Joburg area who can record S'lu playing some music on video or audio so I can post it for others to hear. Anyone know anyone with a camera or something? Hey why not a cell phone camera if we can't do better right now?
