Yeah, I had drawn up some sports squares I called Score & Save Squares where for a toonie you get two squares and a chance to win your registration back and the rest went to charity but we didn't have enough time and volunteers.

Next time we will do some fun stuff like that and maybe even the loonie stick!
Just a thought

Had a wicked time. Next time I'll show up in a better state so I can win the best defensemen trophy ah ha.

Just a thought for next tournament, I remember going on hockey tournaments and there was always raffle prizes and my favourite was the loonie stick. $2 got you a raffle ticket. One loonie went on the stick to be won along with the stick and the other went to whatever charity.

Can't wait until the next one!
Robbie you're down as LW

Hey Robbie,

Glad you had a good time and I understand your comments are tongue in cheek but check the standings ;->

You had a great tournament with three Game MVP's (hopefully a prize sponsor for those next time) and you got 2nd Star overall, not bad.

I even changed the schedule at your teams request so you wouldn't have to face us again until the finals and that clearly worked in your favour
and hurt the ATTACK team having to play us twice
instead...

You can appreciate how I had a lot to juggle on my own this first time around. Without the help of my wife and kids I couldn't have done it. And like I said, my Awards man had to leave at 2pm so I had to figure out the awards on the spot myself.

You were registered and in the team stats as a forward. Two of the guys on your teams positions were not designated at registration. I was in the game chasing the ball, not taking note of who was playing what and when.

Next tourney we will have designated check in people to make sure this doesn't happened again and we will have a voting system in place after each game with designated people to help with this from beginning to end.

The admin. and door prize work was so time consuming for me before, and during and it continues...

Oh and, I didn't pick the Best D-Man myself but asked the opinion of another teams Captain. Darcy Ouellette was right behind you in the scoring and played well defensively. Sorry, going by the registration data I thought you were a forward.

I do believe Zach Kelm shone the brightest in skill and effort and with five more goals than anyone else. Brian Favelle played well between the pipes; the shots had not been inputted so not until I got home did I figure out that he faced 41 KNIGHTS shots in the finals. This was almost double what the ALLIANCE sent Shane Padilla's way.

Still, I thought Padilla edged Favelle out with the top spot in the stats and overall play throughout the tourney from what I saw, again sorry about my Awards man having to go buy his wife wasn't feeling well.

Now, our teams are one game a piece; the rematch game next September will be the tie breaker. :-)

Ouch, led all players in the tourney in points - as a defensemen. Won the cup; and lose out on 1st star and on best D-Man. Hmmm, something tells me the tournament coordinator played for the 2nd place Knights... haha - it's all good; had a great time. Oh yeah, and I'm not too big for a recount ( ;
